Recently, Rebecca and I were invited to lead a terrific Advanced Practice Full-day Session at the American Art Therapy Association's 42nd Annual Conference, titled Collaborating on Happiness: Positive Psychology and Art Therapy. We explored the connection between Positive Psychology and Art Therapy and outlined strategies for increasing collaboration in these two complimentary fields to promote happiness in ourselves and our clients. Artwork on graditude, streangths, and on flow was created-you can see some of it in the slideshow. The focus group we led a few days later was full and we sensed a real energy about this work. Our colleague Megan Booth visited from Australia, added a great deal of her wisdom to the presentations, and found her strength cards were very popular with American art therapists! You can purchase them here: http://www.hollyhoxpositiveresources.com.au/. Megan will join us at the upcoming IPPA conference, where we will keep up-to-date on the latest science of happiness!
